Influencer vs Google Ads for new Indian D2C brands: Google Ads advantage: captures existing demand — people searching for your product category are ready to buy. More predictable, trackable, scalable. Works from day one. Influencer marketing advantage: creates demand — reaches people who weren't looking for you but match your customer profile. Builds brand trust faster. Content has residual value (stays online, gets shared). The honest answer for a new brand with limited budget: Start with Google Search Ads (₹15,000–₹30,000/month) to capture existing demand and prove your product converts. Simultaneously, do 1–2 low-cost creator partnerships (gifting-based) to start building brand content library. Once Google Ads ROAS is above 2x, add influencer marketing to fill the top of the funnel. Running influencer before proving conversion is expensive brand-building without feedback loops.

We ran both simultaneously from month 1. Google captured demand (people searching for our category). Instagram creators created demand (people who didn't know they needed us). Neither works as well alone. The combo is the strategy.
