Exact same thing happened to us. Lesson: influencer marketing without tracking is just sponsorship. Now we use UTMs, unique discount codes, and check creator story analytics 48hrs post-post. Always get a campaign report before releasing final payment.

Honest creator perspective: when brands don't give me a discount code, I'm also flying blind. I don't know if my audience converted. Codes motivate me to push harder because I can see the impact too. Always give creators their own code — creates accountability on both sides.

Beyond UTMs — set up a post-purchase survey on your thank-you page asking "how did you hear about us?" You'll be surprised how many people name the creator even when they didn't click a tracked link. Dark social is real, especially in supplements.
