We have a ₹3,000 product. When does gifting make more sense vs adding ₹2,000 cash?

Home fragrance brand, product value ₹3,000. Creator quotes ₹5,000 for a Reel. Option A: send the product (barter). Option B: send product + ₹2,000 cash. Does the ₹2,000 cash actually change output quality enough to be worth it?

Honest answer: ₹2,000 makes me put your campaign in a higher priority queue and film it sooner. Without cash, your barter campaign competes with 5 other barter campaigns in my inbox. With ₹2,000 it competes with paid campaigns. The cash buys you attention and timing, not necessarily content quality.

We split-tested over 3 months: barter-only vs barter plus ₹1,500 cash. Content quality was similar. But barter+cash campaigns posted 8 days faster on average and had 23% more Stories follow-up (creator sharing to stories unprompted). The cash seems to buy follow-through, not creativity.

For a ₹3,000 product the gift alone is meaningful to most home decor creators — it is a decor piece they can keep and use. I would try pure barter first with the right creator profile. If you get low application rate, add ₹1,500 to the offer. Build your floor before paying ceiling.
