Is it worth paying 40% more for a vetted creator vs a cheaper unvetted one?

Comparing two creators for our face wash launch. Creator A — vetted, 58k followers, ₹9k. Creator B — unvetted, 62k followers, ₹5,500. Budget is limited. Does the vetted badge actually mean better results?

CreloAI Answer

The vetted badge on CreloAI means the creator has completed at least 3 verified campaigns with documented view delivery, no ghosting history, and a performance score above threshold. For a first launch — vetted is almost always worth the premium. Unvetted creators have a 3.4x higher ghosting rate and 2.1x higher content rejection rate in our data. At ₹3,500 difference, the risk of the unvetted creator not posting or delivering low quality content makes the premium a good investment. Exception: if unvetted creator has strong organic engagement and you can view their past brand work directly.

We learned this the hard way. Went unvetted to save ₹4k. Creator delayed posting by 3 weeks, then posted something that felt off-brand. Lost time and momentum for our launch window. Vetted creators treat it like a professional commitment. The extra cost is reputation insurance.

I went through the vetting process and it took about 2 weeks. But it changed how brands treat me — I get higher-quality briefs, faster approval, and brands do not ghost me after content goes live. The vetting works both ways. It filters out bad brands too.

A useful middle path: look at the unvetted creator's existing branded content on their profile. If they have done 3+ brand collabs in the last 6 months and the content looks solid, they might be worth a try at lower cost. Vet them yourself by studying their track record.

For a launch specifically — do not experiment. Use vetted creators. For ongoing awareness campaigns where one flop is not fatal, test unvetted creators and build your own list of reliables over time.
